We are a bar with a difference, aiming to give back to our local community each year. We are a friendly bunch! Each year we select multiple charities that we aim to support throughout multiple fundraising activities. There are always loose change money pots on the bar for each of the charities we support. During 2019, we raised over £5,000 for Great Western Air Ambulance through a range of fund raising days and activities. During 2020 our charities to support are Great Western Air Ambulance, Be more Ben & Above and Beyond. Over the years we have raised in excess of £25,000 for local charities.

Great Western Air Ambulance
Great Western Air Ambulance don’t simply fly people to the nearest hospital. Their priority is to get to the patient fast. They treat people at the scene, on the road and in the air, providing complex interventions to stablise and treat the patient and give them the best chance of a positive outcome. The service they provide is reliant on a brilliant team of pilots, specialist paramedics and doctors who specialise in pre-hospital care.
Their Critical Care teams stand ready to save the lives of local people.
GWAAC provide emergency care to people who are in a state so critical that they require the specialist skills of their team at the scene of the accident or medical incident. Though they are part of the regional 999 response service and work closely with NHS hospitals, GWAAC are a charity entirely funded by local people like the Phoenix Bar.
GWAAC saves lives across Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, North Somerset and surrounding areas.
Be More Ben
The Benjamin Pritchard Foundation was founded in 2019 by Ben’s Parents after he died, to help families like theirs cope with the loss of a child #bemoreben. The charity aims to provide a reliable, informal support network for parents whose child has died and their immediate families as well as offering ongoing services such as counselling and complimentary therapies. In addition, they can give support to families who have a terminally ill child receiving end of life care and can offer a parents perspective to professionals working in end of life care and bereavement to enhance their working practice.
What they do:
Provide holistic support for families following the death of a child under the age of 18.
Offer peer support to families with a terminally ill child.
Support professionals to develop their understanding of bereavement and loss.
